What are the top gluten free foods in Marks and Spencer?
Marks and Spencer was the first store we visited when we found out C needed a gluten-free diet. The Made Without products are very visible in store. This is really important for awareness- I knew the range existed even before we needed it.
With an estimated 500,000 people in the UK currently undiagnosed, it's important to reassure those who suddenly find themselves in need of GF food, that there are good options available.
C's five favourite M&S products
Tempura Chicken Tenders
C's favourite dinner is chicken, beans and baby boiled potatoes. These are really tasty, they don't taste any different to other battered chicken.
British pork sausages
A common misconception is that sausages are GF. Many of the popular brands contain wheat. However most of M&S own brand are gluten-free. Great news for BBQ season!
Made Without Wheat Lasagne
C loves this lasagne, so handy for busy days.
Made Without Wheat Batter Mix
It can be a lonely thing for a child to endure- the feeling of missing out on certain foods. One of the things C missed out on was Yorkshire puddings for roast dinners. With this handy mix, C is so happy to have this.Made Without Chocolate Twists
C's favourite for weekend treat breakfasts/ brunches- they are really delicious.C's rating for M&S GF foods
Taste Rating
C loves the taste of the M&S Made Without Wheat foods. He doesn't really notice a difference between it and what he calls 'normal food.'
Convenience in store 5/5
The Made Without range is clearly labelled and visible in stores. As mentioned above, even before needing it, I knew it was there.
Cost Rating
The trade off for great taste is that the range is more expensive than others we've found. Many products cost 1 or £2 more for the GF alternative.
It looks like they have a good selection. The bread is good at M&S too.
